What More AI does

More AI is a free desktop AI agent for research, documents and code using your own model-provider key or a local model. Home brings everyday questions, file work and browsing into one workspace; Code works with repositories. Cloud execution and synchronization are separate capabilities.

Desktop release 0.1.50 was published on 14 September 2026 for macOS, Windows and Linux. It includes the unified Home workspace, browser data import and the Library interface. Cloud services can have their own account availability. An account is optional for local desktop use and required for cloud features. More AI is not presented as open-source software.

What is free and what is metered

The desktop application is free. With BYOK, model usage is billed by the provider on the user’s key. A free app does not make model requests free; limits and availability depend on the provider.

Available cloud features are free during beta, without a card. Cloud is the subscription layer; model tokens are separate. An account may receive a limited free or promotional model pool. Public credit purchases and future cloud prices are not announced here.

Availability and data boundaries

The responsive web app is available. The Chrome extension is a local beta build requiring the desktop app. Native mobile apps are in development or closed testing, not a public Android/iOS release. Check the installed release and account availability when reviewing a feature.

Local model execution does not by itself make the whole application offline. Synchronization, cloud execution, AI observability and replay have their own settings and data flows. Review Privacy settings and the policy before using sensitive files.

A browser for research and real web tasks

The embedded browser lets the user and agent work with the same visible page: inspect sources, compare information, use a website with the configured permissions, or preview a local app. Conversations keep separate browser profiles and tabs. The external Chrome connector remains an option for working with an existing browser.

Browser data import can bring supported bookmarks, history, cookies and saved passwords from a detected profile or compatible export. Choose the source and categories yourself; passwords are optional. Supported formats depend on the browser and operating system. Some protected cookies cannot be imported, and websites may require a fresh login.

Imported data can stay with the current conversation or seed future conversations by an explicit choice. Existing conversations retain their own browser state. Passkeys, payment cards, extensions and all site storage are not a universal migration package.

The Library: find a file and use it in a task

The Library puts available cloud file sources in one place. More AI Drive supports upload, search, previews, versions and recovery where enabled; a connected Google Drive can appear as a separate source. Select a document to ask about it or reuse it in a task.

The Library interface ships in the desktop app, while service access is being opened gradually during beta. A source may be unavailable for an account; its presence in navigation does not guarantee access. The Library does not automatically upload every local folder or provide a full Office editor.

Useful review scenarios include finding a reference document, summarizing selected files with page references, and preparing a weekly report from an explicitly updated spreadsheet. Check which file and revision the task used.

Cloud tasks and recurring work

Cloud tasks and routines run on More AI infrastructure and can continue when the laptop is closed. Describe a recurring request, clarify the sources and time zone, then check a manual result before scheduling it. Examples include an industry digest, supplier-page checks, reading lists, discounts and nearby events. Cloud schedules are checked every 15 minutes; exact-minute delivery is not promised.

A cloud task needs an account, an available model or separately added cloud key, and files and connectors it can access. A local folder, local model or desktop browser login does not move to the server automatically. Synchronizing history and remotely controlling an online computer are separate workflows.

Cloud Code is a beta workflow whose availability and setup must be checked in the account. Do not present GitHub-to-pull-request completion as universally available. Shared team workspaces and broader transfer between execution environments remain development directions, without a promised release date.

Try a task and check the result

The sample workspace contains synthetic data, prompts and mechanically checked expected outputs. The reference files were generated by a script, not by a measured More AI run. Use them as a test fixture, run the task in the app and compare your result.

For a review, record the application version, model/provider, permissions, every attempt, total usage and human corrections. Report failures as well as successes. A task marked done is not proof that its file or answer is correct.
